어제 한국에서 배달된 조셉 캠벨의 <신화와 인생>을 읽고 있다.

 

아....

역시나 나의 갈증을 채워주는 멧세지로 가득차 있다..ㅠ.ㅠ

 

그는 신화의 상징적 세계를 꿰뚫어 봄으로써,

두려움으로 가득찬 이원성의 이 세계로부터

일원성인 영원의 세계로,

우리를 이끌어주고 있다.

 

그의 글을 접한 이후로

나는 상징의 세계를

조금씩 이해할 수 있게 되었다.

 

 어항속의 금붕어,

철장 속에 갇힌 인생이지만

자유를 꿈꿀 수가 있게 되었다.

 

핑크 플로이드의 이 노래뿐 아니라,

삶에서 접하는 모든 상징적인 것들의 의미를

생각하게 만들어 준

조셉 캠벨...

 

조셉 캠벨을 만난 것은 

내 인생의 축복이라 여겨질 정도이다.
